A recent blog post from the Google Analytics blog, features Web Analytics TV episode #17.

There’s in index in that post, but it doesn’t deeplink to YouTube. So, I decided to cut-and-paste the index and run it through a VIM (text editor) regular expression to automate that task and post the results for your (and my own) convenience.

Current version of the plugin is 1.0.1, the first release + a small typo fix. Download it from the WordPress.org site.

This WordPress plugin adds the possibility to easily insert forms created by Google docs into pages and posts using a shortcode. The form will be embedded using an iframe.
It also contains options for default settings, so you don’t have to change all iframe codes if you e.g. change the width of your content column.

What do I need?

Create new > Form

Then, design the form or survey and find the formkey. The formkey is a very long string of letters which is unique to every form. Copy this string. It can be found in the edit window while editing the form. It’s the unreadable part after ?formkey=:

What do I have to do to insert this form in my WordPress page?

On the place in your post or page, insert a shortcode called googleform. This shortcode will be replaced by the Google form iframe.

A sample shortcode looks something like this:

key is mandatory. The height, width and text parameters are optional, and defaults can be set on the plugin option page.

Right on! Add the plugin using the built-in WordPress plugin browser (search for google forms) or download it from the WordPress.org site
After that: activate the plugin, and start inserting forms!

This is a basic wordpress plugin for the excellent Piwik web Analytics tool. It adds the piwik javascript code into every page of your weblog, so you don’t have to code PHP to add it to your templates.

Please note you will have to have access to a working Piwik installation for this to work.

It is based quite heavily on the Google Analytics wordpress plugin by Joost de Valk.

The following options are supported:

• hostname and path to Piwik options
• site ID
• option to control download tracking
• option to exclude the admin user (probably you)

Your feedback is important. Please test it for me, report bugs, and leave feedback in the comments so I can improve this software.

Impressed by the Twitter Remote widget from the Twittercounter people, I have written a WordPress plugin to make life a little easier for my fellow WordPress users: you can fill in your preferences and use the widget as a regular WordPress widget.

You can download the plugin from the WordPress plugin repository.

Here’s how it works:

1. Download the .zip file
2. unpack the .zip file in your plugins directory
3. In the admin section of your blog, activate the plugin
4. In the “Appearance” menu, choose “Widgets”
5. Activate the twitter remote widget
6. Fill in the form you see on the left
7. Click “done” and save your changes
8. Report your succes or failure in the comments below.

BTW: the name “bloem” you see in the screenshot is my daughter. My twitter name is @zjuul. I tweet in Dutch, please beware
